Confirm before printing
- Choose your units, types and total question count.
- Review the selected questions. Replace individual questions or lock choice order as needed.
- Click Confirm & save. This is when unlocked choices are shuffled and the exam version is saved.
- Check Answer key against the questions before distributing the paper.
The paper and key display a short version identifier. Keep both from the same saved exam. Reopening it does not run the shuffle again, and changing the source bank does not update it.
A quick answer-mapping example
In the template, the grammar answer “goes” is option2. It may become choice D after confirmation. The saved answer key then shows D and the answer text. This mapping is tied to the answer’s identity, not its former position.
If you generate another quiz with the same settings, it is a new selection and may have different questions or choice order. To reprint the exact old paper, use Saved exams → Open exam.
Print the student copy and key separately
- Select Questions, then Print / PDF.
- Choose A4 or US Letter in your browser print dialog. Start at 100% scale and inspect every page in preview.
- Turn off browser headers and footers if they add a URL or timestamp you do not want.
- Print, or choose the browser’s Save as PDF destination.
- Return to the app, select Answer key, and repeat.
The app uses browser printing. It does not have a separate downloadable-PDF generator, and it cannot tell whether a physical printer finished. Printed content may paginate differently across browsers and fonts.
Long passages can cross page boundaries
Long readings and long answer choices flow onto the next page. The app does not promise exactly two questions per sheet. Review page endings, unusually long words and the final question before copying the paper for a class.
If the output is unexpectedly small, check your browser’s scale and paper size. If a specific CSV row causes trouble, reproduce it with a short synthetic example before sharing any report. Do not send student names or private question material for troubleshooting.
Move the same exam to another device
Choose Export workspace to save a JSON backup. On the other device, open Paper Harbor and choose Restore backup. Restoring replaces that browser’s current bank and saved exams, so export its existing workspace first if you need to keep it.
A CSV export preserves question content but is not an exact-exam backup. It does not carry the saved paper’s display order. Use the workspace JSON when you need to preserve a confirmed exam and its matching key.
