Question files are processed on your device
Importing a CSV or restoring a backup reads the file inside this browser. The application has no question-file upload endpoint and makes no AI or advertising calls. Question content, answers, file names and saved exams are not included in analytics events by the app.
Pasting spreadsheet cells or CSV text follows the same local processing path. The pasted draft is not saved until a successful import. An unimported draft is discarded when you navigate away or reload the page.
What remains in browser storage
The active bank stores its original input (CSV or pasted tab-separated text), normalized questions and import report. Original TSV downloads preserve pasted text; Validated CSV exports usable questions in the CSV template format. Confirmed exams store their own question, passage, choice and answer copies. Saved creation settings are stored separately. These records remain on this site’s origin until you delete them, clear site data or the browser removes them.
This is not an account or cloud backup. Someone using the same browser profile may be able to open the saved exams. Private browsing, another browser, another device or a different site address does not share the same workspace.
Export, restore and delete
Export workspace downloads a JSON file containing the active bank and all saved exams, including answers. Treat that file as your own question material. It is not automatically encrypted. Restoring it replaces this browser’s workspace after a confirmation.
Delete local workspace removes the app’s stored bank, exams and saved settings after confirmation. It cannot remove files you downloaded, printed copies or copies on another device. You can also use your browser’s site-data controls to remove local storage.
Requests to the hosting provider
Loading the site downloads its HTML, JavaScript, styles and example files from Cloudflare Pages. Normal network requests expose information such as an IP address and browser request headers to the hosting provider. Local processing of question files does not mean that visiting the website makes no network requests.
Cloudflare describes its own handling of information in its privacy policy. Paper Harbor does not claim a particular provider log-retention period.
Site traffic and performance
When enabled, Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views, visits and page performance. It loads a script from static.cloudflareinsights.com and sends metrics to Cloudflare. Reports may include the page path, referring site, browser, device type and country. The app does not send question text, answers or workspace backups with these metrics, and does not record your clicks or exam creation as custom events.
Cloudflare describes this service as not using cookies or local storage for analytics. The browser storage described above is for your quiz workspace, not a visitor identifier. See Cloudflare Web Analytics documentation for its collection approach. Visits are not a count of unique people. Blocking the analytics script does not prevent the quiz maker from working.
Use appropriate material for the pilot
Use the synthetic examples or authorized, non-sensitive evaluation material. Student names, email addresses and grades are not needed for this workflow. There is no student account system or private organizational workspace in this version.
Advertising and remote question storage are not part of this pilot. Introducing them would require a separate change to both the application and this explanation.
